Smart City Expo Latam Congress, Puebla, Mexico - September 2018

Mexico, which is going through a technological transition to improve citizens’ lives and tackle problems affecting urban areas, is looking for companies who are using artificial intelligence and machine learning to collect and analyse data. To present our uses cases, Cardinality participated in the Smart City Expo Latam Congress, 2018 in Puebla, Mexico from September 11-13.

The audience included local governments in Mexico with several local IoT suppliers keen to understand the possible opportunities. While few companies exhibited their multiple use cases, our stand caught the attention of university researchers, lecturers and Masters’ degree students who were keen to know about how we collect and analyse data and understand the IoT impact.

The days were busy with pitches and presentations on ‘what’ kind of analysis we do, our applications and uses cases. Other key points discussed were about feasibility and investment in Smart Cities projects. The buzz and hype around the projects afforded us the opportunity to demonstrate our fit with their current challenges. E.G. Some security camera vendors claimed they were collecting camera feeds, but didn’t understand how to analyse unstructured video data feeds. Overall, the security use case was a major talking point.

Our 3-step approach for Smart City projects:

Reactive Analytics (work with what you already have)

Prediction Based (starting using Machine Learning)

Automation based
